So, there won't be any Daily Numbers today because I made a conscious decision to deviate from my diet. Why? Because I can't say no to someone buying me dinner. At a buffet. A super freaking delicious Chinese buffet.
I started the day out really well - had a good breakfast, went walking, etc. I knew that the in-laws wanted to go out to eat tonight, so I didn't have lunch - just a smoothie when I went to meet up with my friend Jessi for a while.
Anyway, we went to dinner and I definitely ate way too much food and I'm too full to take another walk. I definitely regret my decision. If I hadn't already taken Monday off, it wouldn't be so bad but two off days in one week, with only one day separating them, is NOT GOOD. I am not going to beat myself up about it, but I am disappointed with myself. I love going out to eat, and the past few months Thomas and I haven't really been able to afford to do much of that, so when someone else offers to pay, it is really hard to turn them down. In regards to this situation, I can't win: I am going to regret my decision either way.
I COULD have decided to eat healthier foods while I was there, but what is the freakin' point? I would have been miserable watching everyone else eat egg rolls and Crab Rangoon and all of those yummy, greasy Chinese buffet staples. I guess in a way it's like being a recovering alcoholic. If you are trying to stop drinking, you don't go to the bar and plan to drink water or soda while everyone else gets shitfaced. You just don't go to the bar at all.
Next time, unless it is my day off, I won't go either unless we are going somewhere that has sensible menu options with nutrition facts listed on their website so I can plan a meal ahead of time.
well it's good that you didn't drink any alcohol. haha. don't worry, you're still on the right track. :)
ReplyDeleteNothing easy is worth spit. Keep up the good work and look at the positive, you did stick to your game plan as far as eating breakfast and lunch AND you even went for your walk. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I totally would have done the same thing, I have a weakness for chinese... But anyway. Sometimes its good to eat the way you use to, because if you body thinks its starving, it will plateau. Even on the biggest loser, they let the contestants eat a high calorie meal once a weak to re-start their metabolism, so not all is lost.
ReplyDeleteIts hard, I know.
Thanks everyone :)
